Technique

The technique as a tool. Small details make big differences.

We can define technique as the set of models or patterns studied that integrally operate in each sporting gesture and whose value is its execution under the precepts of maximum efficiency. From this definition, we understand that, within the specific training of the Goalkeeper, technique is a fundamental tool. Football (or Soccer) has evolved and with it the goalkeeper’s role in the collective team function. Today, the goalkeeper must not only stop shots to the goal, but is also a fundamental part of the game as a whole. It starts the attack with the first pass, receives passes from his teammates in order to generate numerical superiority, has to become a defender cutting and anticipating rival counterattacks, etc.

This evolution not only affects the role of the goalkeeper within the team, but also the speed of the game itself. In modern football, a shot can reach the goal in less than 1.5 seconds.

This change forces us to train intelligent Goalkeepers that could interpret the game and be fast in their decisions and actions. That is, we must provide them with tools that they can use to resolve different situations in the shortest possible time. Also, to make them effective, based on their natural abilities, but at the same time efficient, with specific movement patterns and technically correct acquired, through a logical teaching-learning process.

In this section we will study different specific technical actions of the Goalkeeper. Each movement will be analyzed. At the same time, it will be justified through the basis of the specific technique. With detailed descriptions we will explain how to arrive at the optimization of each movement, so that the Goalkeeper would act with the lowest energy expenditure and greater EFFICIENCY.
